Northern California 2019
During Halloween weekend of 2019, I went to Northern CA. I have been there before but the difference this time was that I went with the mentality and intention that I am not going to get in my own way. This is not to say that I didn’t have feelings while there, but when I travel I tend to obsess about something (in hindsight those obsessions are superfluous) in other words; I get in my own head, and in my own way. I mean it is a vacation of sorts at the end of it all, I need to have fun and enjoy it while it lasts. Often my self-sabotage would connect to some anxiety and a some need to maintain control of something at all times. However, not this time.
The places visited were; Big Sur, Monterey, San Francisco, and Napa, all within 4 days. Big Sur was breathtaking, some parts of the beach people are not allowed to be on, which is awesome because humans can be disastrous. There was a place called Pacific Valley and during that random view point, it smelled like ‘Sea Breeze’ like the actual scent that you smell in home deodorizing/refreshing sprays! I mean this is probably where they got the scent idea from (I can smell it now just thinking about it). Monterey was cold, and had a small town feel while being metropolitan. San Francisco was a blast, this time around didn’t do the touristy things, but wanted to try the food with a very good friend, have some photo-shoots, and get lost. And while getting lost, we decided to take a pay per minute electric scooter to get to brunch, but not after our first attempt to get scooters was taken by another person, we got scooter jacked lol! And wow is the city packed! we had to dodge some cars and run a couple stop signs during rush hour but we got there safely, phew —
Whom we are traveling with makes a big difference, they are going to feed off our energy also, and hopefully help with the traveling in some way. While a trip to Nor Cal has been done before, it was not with the same significance that this trip was.
For me this trip signified cheer, commitment, and compassion.
